Karen joined The Brooks Group in 2006 as Director of Market Research. Karen provides her customers with unique market research and consulting solutions in key healthcare segments including national and regional health plans, government payers including CMS, specialty pharmacy providers, and physician medical groups. Karen also serves as co-CEO for a joint venture that produces STAR, a proprietary syndicated research product, the first to enable pharmaceutical and biotech companies to measure how they are perceived as an advocacy partner by patient, consumer, and professional groups. She oversees the development and delivery of twice yearly reports, their analysis and publication, as well as customized consultation with clients.
Prior to The Brooks Group, Karen was the Director of Disease Management for Health Industries Research Companies (HIRC), a leading healthcare market research company specializing in managed healthcare and pharmaceutical marketing. Karen ran the company’s Health and Disease Management Service, which profiles pharmaceutical company health and disease management initiatives with significant managed care customers. Karen also provided primary research support to HIRC’s Best Programs and Best People Service, which profiles pharmaceutical company’s leading programs in managed care through case studies, in-depth analysis, and ratings.
Prior to her market research experience at HIRC, Karen spent 10 years at IMS Health, the world’s leading provider of market intelligence to the and re-pricing of a $300 million product line, resulting in reductions in client-level discounts of 20% and a 10 to 15% increase in product revenues. Karen was consistently ranked as a top performer and served on a variety of high-level multi-functional committees. Prior to IMS, Karen worked for US Healthcare, one of the early leaders in managed care. Karen worked with the chief financial officer to develop key profitability metrics utilized for reporting with Wall Street and external analysts.
Karen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Business from Lafayette College and an MBA in Finance from St. Joseph’s University.
